Bean Preparation

 

BEANS COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

1) Wash: In clean water, remove any foreign objects and then rinse.
2) Soak:
REGULAR METHOD - cover beans with water (3 cups of water for each 1 cup beans). Let sit overnight.
QUICK METHOD: Cover 1 pound (approximately 2 1/2 cups) beans with 6 - 8 cups water. Cover with vented plastic wrap. Microwave on high for10 minutes. Let sit for 1 hour.
3)Cook: Add salt (1/4 tsp for each 1 cup beans) to beans and soaking water.  Simmer for about 2 hours. Drain excess liquid.

Beans are now ready to use in your favorite recipe.
